User Experience Philosophy

Campus Notes is less like a typical web application and more like a desktop application, except where it doesn't sense to behave like a desktop application. So basically we're striving to recreate the great user experience you get using an app on the desktop but we're not going to copy it no matter what.

As a user this means that many things will work just the way you're used to on the desktop. Drag and drop of notes into folders, double clicking to rename, inline addition of items, etc. But some things won't work the same way because we have new constraints on the web or it just doesn't make sense. Those things you're just going to have to learn and get used to.

Markdown

Instead of providing a visual editor we give you something better, a very simple markup language called Markdown. It takes 5 minutes to learn and makes formatting documents simple and fast.

The complete syntax documentation is long, complicated and provides more information than you need to get started. The Dingus has a more concise set of example syntax and let's you try it out. There's also a basic guide provided here:

Yes! We're extremely Javascript heavy and Campus Notes won't work without it. So make sure it's not deactivated.

Yes! We use cookies to store the state you leave the application in. With cookies we remember which semesters you have expanded, which class is selected and what note you have open.

When will I billed?

You're billed when you first sign up and automatically billed each 30 days after that until you cancel your account.

Why do I have to use Paypal?

We use Paypal to process payments so we don't have the burden of keeping your credit card information safe. Paypal is already great at it. You don't need a Paypal account.

Do you have plans to support more browsers?

No.

What if I cancel my account mid billing cycle?

We don't have lock in contracts or anything like that so you can cancel any time but we also don't do refunds. You'll lose all your data and access to your account.
